My 2012 in gaming :D
And then I realized I have the wrong game in my XBOX. Noooooo
I’ve been excited for Dishonored ever since I first read about it on reddit. Being a huge Thief and Thief II - The Metal Age enthusiast up to this day, including a huge portion of the awesome fan mission library, I have tried several modern “stealth” games, but none of those could come anywhere close to the feeling of Thief. Even Thief: Deadly Shadows didn’t really grow on me (yet, might give it another try one day). I really hoped that with Dishonored I could get my fix of shadow crawling and gold grabbing that I have been missing in all the other stealth games.
GameStop had a special offer for this today, so I headed right over and picked up the last copy. And man, am I glad I did.
I only played the first hour and I can already tell I will be loving this game. There’s the sword fighting, the creeping around in the shadows, the picking up all kinds of treasures on the way, the sitting and watching guards patroling and overhearing conversations, only to catch the right moment to advance to the next dark corner without being seen, and, of course, parcouring your way out of their sight if you accidentally get noticed. (If you’re playing “no unnecessary kills” style)
It’s very much like a modern version of thief, and that’s AWESOME.
One thing though, in order to get the most thief-like experience out of this game, turn off objective markers. Otherwise the markers on screen will pretty much tell you step by step where to go, and wether there’s bad guys around or not. It kinda kills the aspect of figuring out where to go, and expecting to run into guards around every corner. Luckily this can easily be switched off in the options menu.
I know how I will be spending the rest of my night!
In other news: My Amazon package came today, and now I can do this! Awesome, right? Oh yeaah.
Found this at a flea market for 9€ :) really looking forward to this since I haven’t played it yet, but from the.demo and from what I’ve read about it it seems to be pretty damn impressive.
Assassin’s Creed - Lineage
This is a short movie that Ubisoft produced to promote the upcoming Assassin’s Creed II. It tells a story of Ezio’s father, Giovanni. Though this was kinda cheesy to watch, it just makes me wish they did an entire movie based on the game series. Maybe one day..
Assassin’s Creed - I’m done
I finished it! Wooh! And boy, was that an unexpected ending. I didn’t know the game was directed by M. Knight Shaymalanaylmaln.

Well, now that I’m through with this one, I still got three more games to go. And by the time I’m finished with those I bet Assassin’s Creed III is gonna be here and yeah.. I got a lot of stuff to accomplish :D Off to Assassin’s Creed II!
I was like “come on Pebbles, let’s go play some XBOX!” And went over to the living room. Then 2 minutes later..
“Alarm für Cobra 11” (schlimmes Spiel übrigens, aber für einen Haufen unfreiwillige Komik unbedingt mal die Demo ausprobieren) heißt im englischen einfach “Crash Time”.. Entfernen wir doch einfach mal jeglichen Bezug zu einer nur in Deutschland bekannten Serie aus unserem uninteressanten Spiel und verkaufen es als random Racing Game in anderen Ländern. :D
Assassin’s Creed II.
Just like I’m constantly late to the party when it comes to videogames, I’m currently halfway through the first Assassin’s Creed. I got so hooked up that I wanted to have the next game already sitting on my shelf to keep playing as soon as I’m through with the first one. Paid like 1€ more for the “Lineage” edition with bonus DVD without knowing what it really was, got this fine ass collector’s box thingy. Score!
